Hallicrafters World-Wide Model TW-1000 portable tube radio receiver, produced circa 1952-1956. The eight-band receiver covers standard broadcast, longwave and international shortwave frequencies through a multiscale Dynamic Tuner dial. The black portable cabinet incorporates a hinged cover, carrying handle, telescoping whip antenna, internal speaker and vacuum-tube chassis. Front controls include a band selector, tuning and volume control, together with bass, voice, alto and treble tone switches. The set is rated for 105-120-volt AC/DC operation at 20 watts or operation from 90-volt "B" and 9-volt "A" batteries.
