Anatole Krasnyansky (Ukrainian American, 1930–2023) was known for imaginative watercolors and cityscapes that fuse architecture, theater, and music. In this work (Lot 70), Krasnyansky renders a fantastical old‑world city with steep blue roofs, ornate towers, bare trees, and tiny figures in the streets beneath a textured sky that shifts from warm yellow to cool blues and purples, creating a dramatic, stage‑like mood.
