Decorative Asian ceramic vase featuring a hand-painted figural scene with traditionally dressed figures, including a figure carrying an umbrella. The composition is surrounded by intricate floral decoration and distinctive heart-shaped motifs in teal, orange, pink and complementary colors.
The vase has an overall crackle-glaze finish, giving the surface its characteristic network of fine lines. Figural and floral decoration over crackle-glazed grounds is found on various Chinese and Japanese-inspired export ceramics, so a specific country, maker or period should not be assigned without examining the base and any marks.
