Designed for RF amplifier, oscillator, and modulator service, published model specifications include a thoriated-tungsten filament rated at 7.5 volts and 52 amperes, with maximum plate dissipation of 2,500 watts. The tube is marked "JAN-CIM-3X2500A3," "Made in U.S.A.," and "A10." Accompanied by an Eitel-McCullough carton labeled for a different JAN-CIM 4-1000A electron tube, FSN 5960-189-5968, packed November 1961 and noted as similar to CV3880. The carton bears a radiation symbol and a printed thorium-232 activity declaration of 0.000585 microcurie.
