A lot of two matted and framed art prints. The first is a vintage color print after George Frederick Nicholls's watercolor At Polperro, Cornwall, depicting a village street with cottages and figures in a muted earth-tone palette. It bears a printed G. F. Nicholls signature and is presented under layered matting in a black frame. The second is a monochrome reproduction after Pablo Picasso's 1904 drawing Mother and Child and Four Studies of Her Right Hand, composed with a seated mother and infant, a small head-and-shoulders study, and repeated studies of a hand. It bears a facsimile Picasso signature and 1904 date and is matted in a slender gold-tone frame.

ARTIST / CREATOR BIOGRAPHY
George Frederick Nicholls (1857-1939) was a British painter and illustrator known particularly for topographical watercolors. Born in Staines, Middlesex, he was established as an artist in Evesham by the time of the 1911 census. His work followed the varied character of the British landscape, from old villages and country roads to the distinctive architecture and coastal settlements of Cornwall. Nicholls contributed illustrations to several early 20th-century travel and regional books. His 32 color illustrations for Cornwall, published in 1915 with text by Geraldine Edith Mitton, helped preserve an atmospheric record of the county's towns, harbors, and rural scenery. A painting of Newlyn was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1917. He died in Horspath, Oxfordshire, in 1939. Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) was a Spanish artist whose painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, and ceramics transformed the course of modern art. Born in Málaga to a painter and art teacher, he received formal training in Spain and became involved with Barcelona's progressive artistic circles before settling in Paris in 1904. Picasso's early Blue and Rose periods explored expressive figures through spare contours and emotionally charged color. He later developed Cubism with Georges Braque, replacing conventional perspective with fractured, interlocking forms. Throughout his long career in France, Picasso repeatedly returned to the human figure while moving freely among classical, experimental, and highly personal modes of expression. He died in Mougins, France, in 1973.
