Pair of hand-carved wooden decorative masks attributed to West African folk-art production, featuring elongated facial forms, deeply carved details and dark stained finishes.

One mask incorporates a prominent bird figure above the forehead, with broad carved wings extending behind it. The second features three tall horn-like projections and contrasting geometric inlay to the forehead and cheeks. Both display incised geometric and textural decoration throughout.

These appear to have been produced as decorative wall masks rather than functional ceremonial masks. Their styling is consistent with commercially produced African folk-art carvings associated with West Africa. Ghana has been suggested as a possible origin; however, a specific country, cultural group or carver has not been confirmed. I would not state Kenya as an alternative West African origin, since Kenya is in East Africa.
