Early 20th-century S.H. Couch wall-mounted intercommunication telephone housed in a hinged rectangular wood cabinet. The face is fitted with a black funnel-form transmitter, removable receiver with cloth-covered cord, and a ten-button selector panel bearing the script Couch mark. Visible station labels include Lobby, Engineering, Manager, Sales, Warehouse, Loading Dock, Maintenance, and Legal. The cabinet opens to reveal its electromechanical switching assembly, contact banks, wiring, and circular interior component. An accompanying reference sheet identifies the unit as Intercommuniphone No. 39, Code 391, configured as part of a B-12A common-battery system for ten stations.
