Sterling Telephone and Electric Co. Ltd. Primax automatic wall interphone mounted on an elongated wooden backboard. The instrument has a radial selector with ten numbered line positions, a projecting horn transmitter, a round hanging receiver with cloth-covered cord, and an exposed lower bell. The hinged wooden housing opens to reveal the electromagnetic components, switching mechanism, terminals, and internal wiring. A front plate reads "REMOVE RECEIVER BEFORE RINGING." The reverse bears a "STERLING PRIMAX SYSTEM" trade-mark plate and a notice specifying that compatible instruments must bear the Primax mark. Accompanied by a printed reference sheet identifying the form as Interphone No. 410.
