A 1960s The Fisher model 500-C wide-band FM stereo multiplex receiver with a brushed metal faceplate, illuminated FM tuning dial, Stereo Beacon indicator, signal-strength meter, and wood cabinet. The vacuum-tube receiver combines an FM tuner, stereo preamplifier, and two-channel power amplifier. Front-panel controls include speaker selection, bass, treble, balance, tuning, input selection, loudness contour, and volume, along with high- and low-filter switches, MPX filter, tape monitor, and headphone connections. The rear chassis includes RCA audio connections, screw-terminal speaker outputs, an attached power cord, and an exposed complement of vacuum tubes and transformers. Published specifications for the model include 30 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 105-120V, 50/60Hz operation.
