ARTIST / CREATOR BIOGRAPHY
Vera Wang (born 1949) is an American fashion designer and native New Yorker whose career has encompassed fashion publishing, bridal couture, ready-to-wear, and home design. Before entering fashion, she trained seriously as a figure skater and later studied art history at Sarah Lawrence College.

At age 23, Wang became one of the youngest fashion editors at Vogue, where she remained for approximately 16 years. She subsequently worked as a design director at Ralph Lauren before opening her first bridal salon on Madison Avenue in 1990. Her refined silhouettes and intricate detailing helped bring a distinctly modern fashion perspective to bridal design. The Vera Wang name later expanded into ready-to-wear, accessories, fragrance, jewelry, tabletop, and decorative gifts.

Wang's collaboration with Wedgwood began in 2002 and has continued for more than two decades, translating her interest in ceremony, romance, and contemporary elegance into china, crystal, and silver-plated giftware. Her honors include the CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year award in 2005, the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013, and the National Medal of Arts in 2023.
