World War II U.S. Navy Type CFT-52300 battery-powered target and calibration radio transmitter manufactured by Federal Telephone & Radio Corp. of Newark, New Jersey, for the Navy Department Bureau of Ships. Marked serial number 29 and identified for use with Model DAU radio equipment, with Navy acceptance dated August 1, 1944. The black textured metal cabinet has a large tuning dial, four-position band selector, HI/LO output control, ON/OFF switch, and ICW/CW selector. Its side-mounted frequency chart provides four-band dial settings from 1.5 to 30.0 Mc and bears a calibration date of August 28, 1944.
